My Current Decaf Latte Obsession

As someone who is a proud tea drinker and has been for my entire life, I've always prided myself on not needing coffee to function. In fact, if anything, coffee has always had the opposite effect on me than it has on most normal people. It makes me feel shaky and jittery, I get brain fog and nausea. And then I crash literal minutes after having it and feel incredibly exhausted. Yeah, coffee is generally a no go for me.
But every once in a while, especially when the Autumn season rolls around, I start craving warm, cozy and earthy drinks. And this honey almond milk decaf latte fits the bill! I can drink it without feeling weird afterwards, and it gives me that fix of coffee goodness. Plus, making it in this beautiful, blue Sur La Table mug just makes the experience that much better.
If you're also sensitive to caffeine but want something delicious and warming, this recipe is for you!
I start with a double pull of decaf french roast. I've been using this brand from Thrive Market and I absolutely LOVE it.
Then I steam about a cup of almond milk from the brand MALK. I love this brand because it has no added sugar, fillers, or anything other than organic almonds, water and salt. Sign me up. If you want something a bit more festive, they also have a pumpkin spice almond milk that they only bring out for the fall season. And while it's great, there's really nothing better than just using your own pumpkin spice blend. Nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon and cloves will get the job done and be even more delicious.
Steam the milk using the steamer on your espresso machine or heat it up on the stove and make it foamy with a handheld milk frother.
Pour the milk into your mug and add your honey. Here's where I go a tad crazy and I add a decent amount of honey. I love being able to make it as sweet as I want and I tend to like it pretty sweet. So at this point you can add about 1-2 tsp of honey, depending on how sweet you want it.
Then top with cinnamon and enjoy!
This easy recipe is wonderful because there are so many different flavor combinations you can do with not a lot of effort. And honestly, making yummy drinks at home saves so much money. I've made rose cardamom lattes, honey lattes, caramel lattes! The flavor combos are endless.
So, I hope you try this one out and enjoy my current drink hyperfixation right along with me.
