Felicia's Favorites: AUGUST

Hi loves,

Can you believe the month of August is practically over? This year has flown by in such a blur that each month feels like a split second. We will blink, and it will be Christmas. Mark my words.

In an effort to start blogging more before the year's end, I wanted to start sharing some of my favorite things each month, so that they can hopefully bring a little joy to your every day life. From makeup, to skincare, or binge-able tv shows, sometimes, it's the little things that bring us little sparks of joy to help us through the difficult seasons in life.

Whether that be breakups, moving, life transitions, or, you know, a global pandemic.

So! Enough chit chat, let's jump right in to my August Favorites.

MAKEUP

I bought this palette out of sheer necessity because I was convinced I had left my Too Faced "Just Peachy" palette back in Colorado. (Which, I later came to find had only fallen behind my hair products behind my sink). I was looking for something with deep pink and auburn tones in it for Fall and came across this gorgeous palette at Sephora.

Not only do I love the colors, but they are so pigmented, I don't have to put a thousand coats on before I start to see the color show up.

Y'all know how much I love neutral shadow, so I have been loving incorporating the browns and tan colors in my daily looks!

I spent the month of August using a mascara I really don't like, which made me appreciate my actual favorite mascara that much more.

I love this "Tarteist" mascara by Tarte. And when I say love, I really do mean it. This mascara allows me to live my best life. It enhances my lashes so much that I do not need false lashes to add that extra va-va voom to my look. Also, how cute is the name?! "Tarte-ist" like "Artist"... I just think it's so clever.

Whoever came up with that needs a raise.

My Tarte obsession continues. I truly feel Tarte is an underrated brand and doesn't get the credit it deserves. This foundation has served me well for the last 7 years and I don't plan on pledging my allegiance to any other foundation any time soon.

I initially found it while I was searching for face makeup that wouldn't irritate my acne, and this one is perfect. It's oil-free, has SPF 15 and is *pretty full coverage.

I use the color "Deep Golden" but of course, I know that we don't all have the same skin tone. Tarte has a great selection of shades for different undertones, which you really don't get with other brands.

MEDIA

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll already be very familiar with my love for "Hill House Vintage" AKA Paula Sutton. She's an English interior designer focusing on English country style, gardens, hosting, and style and is pretty much me in 30 years. She's the absolute sweetest and actually responds to comments on her Insta posts! (I know this because she responded to one of mine). Not only that, but she wears dresses literally every, single, day. Her house is a dream, her pictures are a dream, her style is a dream.

This is Paula's world, and we're all just living in it. Here's the link to her Instagram page.

2) "JULIE AND JULIA"

If you're not familiar with my undying love for Amy Adams...I have an undying love for Amy Adams. From "Enchanted" to "Leap Year", I am a fan of virtually everything she does. And last night, my mother and I indulged ourselves in a little bit of a lazy day watching movies and eating snacks. We decided to watch "Julie and Julia" starring my pal Amy, and another favorite of mine, Meryl Streep.

This is such a feel good movie, based on a true story, which does a great job of transporting the viewer into Julia Child's life in Paris and Julie Powell's life in New York. It also does a great job of making the viewer HUNGRY as you watch both women cook these incredibly delectable French dishes. It's inspired me to crack open my own copy of "Mastering The Art of French Cooking", which has been sitting in my pantry, unopened, for months.

HOME DECOR

While I absolutely love my big fluffy white comforter that you all see in my videos, I felt like my bed needed a cozy little addition to satisfy my inner artistic mind. This throw blanket has been perfect. It's soft, fuzzy and perfect to throw over my feet when they get cold while I'm sitting on my bed or the couch. There are plenty of colors you can order it in, but of course, I had to go with the Dusty Rose. I mean, would you expect anything else from me?

When shopping for Fall decor this year, I knew I wanted to keep everything on brand. So instead of going for the typical Fall colors (red, orange, brown), I searched for something a little girlier. Much to my surprise, there wasn't much for Fall decor in blush or pink, but I was lucky enough to stumble across these super cute pillow covers!

The reason why I'm calling them pillow "covers" and not "cases" is because they are a meant for a specific sized pillow, and unlike traditional pillow cases they zip up on the side! They are truly so cute and the perfect harvest vibe for Fall if you're looking for something a little more on the girly/feminine side.

You don't know how much you need this, until you have it. Prior to buying this stand for my phone I was a walking infomercial bumbling about trying to rest my phone on the dresser to FaceTime while I wash my face or do whatever else I do on FaceTime. It has been a serious game changer. I just plop it down anywhere and have free rein with my hands to do whatever I need to do. I initially saw it on Gabi DeMartino's YouTube video about her girly Amazon must-haves, and I am forever grateful.

Well loves, that's it for this post! I hope you enjoy some of these little goodies. They have been making my life happier and easier.

Much love to you all.

xo,

F.
